William Lilly - Natal Astrologer!
Friday September 4, 2026 11:00am - 12:15pm CDT
William Lilly is regarded as the last of the great early modern astrologers, and books 1 & 2 of his classic “Christian Astrology” (1647) are still seen as essential to Horary Astrology. However, book 3 is a masterful dive into natal astrology, which until now has been available only in hard-to-read 17th-Century English. I have re-written book 3 in contemporary English, and will share with you the Natal delineation expertise of one of the greatest astrologers of all time.

How Hellenistic Astrology Came to America
Saturday September 5, 2026 9:00am - 10:15am CDT
Hellenistic astrology began arriving to America in the 1950’s. The early 1990’s foreshadowed a renaissance of traditional astrology. Demetra will recount the lineage of academic scholars and contemporary astrologers who brought news of these ancient doctrines. Personal anecdotes about how these luminaries became inspired and then handed over their discoveries, excitement, and insights to those now carrying on this tradition for modern times.

In this talk, we will deep-dive into how well this little-used technique can work in adding additional testimony for the practicing astrologer.

Sunday September 6, 2026 2:30pm - 3:45pm CDT
Aglaonice of Thessaly, a female astrologer active sometime between the 5th and 1st century BCE, was famed for “drawing down the Moon”—likely a mastery of eclipse prediction. (Neo)Platonic Astrology: Contemplation And the Metaphysics of Astrology
Monday September 7, 2026 2:30pm - 3:45pm CDT
Neoplatonists conceive astrology as a metaphysical language, thus as a contemplative method. While sometimes critical with the astrologers, they offer deeply spiritual but also practical views on astrology, relevant today. What is the being of the planetary gods and their presence down here through the correspondences? What is the nature of providence, fate and soul? The astrological interpretation of our tutelary spirit (daimon): why and how to follow our own star.
